First ever public tender of Argyle pink in June

The first-ever public tender of Argyle pink diamonds will be held by Australian start-up yourdiamonds.com from 21 June to 1 July, the announcement released a few days after Rio Tinto revealed its plans for the final Argyle pink tender.

Australian Start-up Launches Secondary Market for Pink Diamonds

(IDEX Online) – An Australian start-up aims to fill an industry gap by providing a secondary market for super-rare pink diamonds.

Prices are soaring, says Tim Goodman, CEO of yourdiamonds.com, yet private owners encounter problems selling pre-owned pinks.

He aims to sell a maximum of 30 stones at his first sale, and to then hold six-monthly tenders.

A little-known Australian technology start up in the diamond sector founded by Tim Goodman a former Executive Chairman of Sotheby’s Australia, has been asked to sell a collection of rare pink diamonds by an Australian finance corporation as mortgagee in possession. The five pink diamonds ranging from 0.40 carat to 1.01 carat, originally sourced from the world-famous Argyle Diamond Mine, are expected to fetch over US$1million. The request to sell the gems inspired Tim to expand the sale to include other pink diamonds originally from the Argyle mine.

First ever public tender for Australian pink diamonds

The first ever public tender for Australian pink diamonds is set to go live next month.

In total the set of five stones, from the famous Argyle Diamond Mine, are expected to bring in a haul of over $1 million (£720,000).

The pink diamonds range in size from 0.4ct to 1.01ct will be sold by Australian technology startup Yourdiamonds.com.
